Phillips 66 in Ferndale, WA

Hey, thanks for clicking! πŸ˜ƒ This is my first blog, and my first entry. I have never blogged before, and am a brand new blogger, who doesn’t know the rules in Bloggland. 🫣 Just wanted to reflect on our first presentation of 2023. 😁 Our client was the Phillips 66 oil refinery, in Ferndale, Washington, located about two hours north of us. We had rain on the way up there (Imagine that – in the great northwettest! 🀣), but the drive was not bad (although it’s always a little weird driving past the area where he had the fall…🫀) We arrived the night before the presentation, and were able to meet a former client for dinner. πŸ˜ƒ (Never had prime rib mac and cheese before – nummy! ) He also was kind enough to help me put Russ to bed. 😊 (Don’t know why those “wheelchair-accessible” rooms have such danged high beds! 🀨) We watched some Criminal Minds reruns, then I dressed his wounds, emptied his foley,Β  and we went to sleep. 😴 Next morning, after a similar routine (gravity was on our side, this time, during the bed to wheelchair transfer! 😁) we headed to the refinery (stopping at an espresso stand, first, of course! πŸ˜‰) It was a beautiful day, and our host met us at the gate, and gave us our passes. (Another former client was allowed to attend, as well! πŸ˜ƒ) We followed the safety director to the tent, where we had our prayer before going in.😊 There were almost 400 workers, and they had built Russ a stage, so that he could be seen. πŸ˜ƒ The presentation went well (although the first time we asked for questions, there were none, so Russ proceeded to wheel into the crowd, and pick on people…πŸ™„) After our presentation, we had dozens of individuals come up and shake our hands.😊 Then we all enjoyed a bratwurst lunch. (The potato salad was exceptional! πŸ˜‹) We were able to meet many of the team members, and also ran into quite a few individuals who remembered hearing our message 3, 5, 11, and even 20 years ago! 😲 After saying our goodbyes, we started to head home, grateful for the speaking opportunity, the new (and old!) friends, the sunny skies, and the beautiful view of Mount Baker…😎
